New pip claim. How long for a reply from DWP?

Hi i made a new claim for pip just wondering how long it takes for a reply from dwp..i have osteoarthritis and a mono arthritis..i have 4 kids just finding day to day life hard as pain gets me really down..

Its very difficult at the moment just taking regular painkillers having dry cupping for pain and stiffness and massage here and there..im waiting for app to come through for injection in my elbow via ultrasound also waiting for physio..my eldest child is 13 and youngest is 2..i have girls aged 8 and 5..so i have to be very active with youngest his in his terrible twos at moment..my sister cooks for me once a week..i order takeouts alot which i dont like..i have flare up of pain in armknees and neck alot..im 37 but feel like 60.0

My timeframe just as a guide was rang up for forms on March 12th they got my paper work because of slow post by end of April. Had assessment by phone on 17th august got pip decision this Tuesday just gone and will get money this Monday hope that is helpful about timeframes0

DWP are esitmating a 10 month timescale but this will depend on backlog in your area and all areas will be different.

That will be 10 months from start of claim to having a decision. We have members that applied in December and are still waiting. Backlogs are huge. The good news is, if you're successfully awarded then you will receive backdated money from the date you rang to start your claim. Providing it's your first claim and you're not transferring from DLA.
