Hi everyone. I am new to all this and have been reading some things online and noticed how good the support is with PIP. I wondered if anyone could enlighten me to my experience and if anyone has had the same. So here goes suffer from Arthritis in hands and wrists have only recently been diagnosed but been a problem for 2 years just deterioted rapidly in the last year. Awaiting specialist appointment but on seeing Dr she prompted me to apply for PIP. Anyhow sent the forms and had my assessment over the phone on Tues, I struggle with fastening bras and buttons, washing hair and brushing it and also cooking anything that may have a weight to it ie boiling veg, taking a joint from the oven. Had a accident with a pan of beans ended up burning myself mentioned all this but feel my appointment didn't last long half hr at half 2 in afternoon and then a message 8am saying they would contact me when a decision has been made..anxiety threw roof thinking I have not gone into enough detail. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

The assessment length really doesn't mean anything. They can be anything from 20 to 90 minutes, sometimes longer. All it means is that they had no further questions to ask so that was the end of the assessment.
Decision waiting times are anything between 2-12 weeks, sometimes longer.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

@meranaseeb37 sorry to hear of your condition. Hopefully not too long for you sound like there snowed under but the waiting is the worst thing, for me I think I am dwelling on should have told them this should have said that sort of thing worried I haven't said enough. Will just have to be patient ?
