Hiya all.. am in right to think that people who where on pip or ESA. And they did not get £20 uplift during COVID would be backdated?
I think I had pip and unversial credit at that time so I  had £20 uplift with my unversial credit?
So I would be exluded this time in not getting the £20 backdated..

The £20 uplift was for universal credit.

The court case decision expected is for legacy benefits.

PIP has nothing to do with it.

If you were already claiming UC then you already received the increase which was automatically added to your standard element. This means you won't receive anything, even if money is paid out to those on legacy benefits.

Those of us on ESA then had to move to UC as our ESA was ending due to retirement may get the uplifted back payment if the High Court rules against the DWP. I don’t see any judgement made till early 2022. We have managed through 2020 /2021 without the additional £20  so if we are awarded the back payment it will be a nice new year present. If we don’t get a payment we won’t have had anything taken away. So we will have to wait and see, don’t spend it before you have it.

That will depend when exactly you moved to UC.
