Please could someone help me as I feel like I’m going mad I posted a few weeks ago to say that I had filled in my pip form. I have emotional unstable disorder and have been off work since September. I struggle daily
even before I was signed off. The reason I’m worried is I rang dwp yesterday and they said to ring capita time find out how much longer it would be.. well they said to me we are doing a paper based assessment for you and have requested more information from your medical team! I always thought you had a telephone appointment or face to face?? Should I be worried? Thank you in advance

Most people have assessments either by telephone or face to face. Paper based assessments are rare but they do happen. I've not read one story where someone has been refused when they've had a paper based assessment. I know it's difficult but try not to worry.

Hello @Matilda1234 thank you for reaching out. I don't think you should be worried, no. As poppy has said, paper based assessments do happen. The call you had was just to let you know that your application is moving forwards to the next step, and is nothing to worry about.

You mention you've been struggling daily, I'm sorry to hear that. Can I ask, do you feel you are getting enough support for your mental health at the moment? Have you spoken to your GP about your feelings lately?

If you need help with anything else, let us know, we're here to support you :)
