I'm about to receive over 16000 pounds. Will I lose the 100% council tax discount?

I'm about to receive over 16000 pounds in my dad's will my question is will I lose the 100 percent discount as I do not pay council tax at all I was exempted some yrs ago thank u for reading

If you're exempt because you're severely mentally impaired (SMI) then your savings won't affect this. If it's just council tax reduction you're claiming then you will need to report the changes once the money goes into your bank.

You should report the changes just to be safe. This also includes any other means tested benefits you may also be claiming.0

Markm88 hi yes it looks like I will still be entitled to full reduction even with my savings being over 16000 as I'm classed as mentality impaired a d did get A letter stating my illness from my gp thank u0
