Hi,
You will only be entitled to extra money if the decision was Limited Capability for Work Related Activity.
If the decision was Limited Capability for work there’s no extra money.
Can you confirm exactly what the decision was please? It will tell you on the decision letter.0 -
Yes I was put on limited capabilities ie sick0

Yes it was limited work related activity0

Unless you're claiming UC with a partner that already claims the LCWRA element on your UC then it should be backdated to the 4th month of your claim. When it's backdated to will depend on the exact date you reported your health condition and the dates of your assessment periods (or when you usually receive your money each month) so approximately July/August 2020 but without knowing the exact dates it's impossible to tell you exactly.

I changed the claim from a single to joint with universal credit, would that affect the claim

My partner does not claim limited capabilities she’s on maternity leave0

So if I have been providing sick notes since March 2020 I had assessment in November 2021 and was placed on limited work capabilities should it be backdated0

Yes, if the decision was limited capability for work related activity. There's a full 3 month assessment period waiting time and the extra money is paid from the 4th month of your claim.. when it's paid from will depend on this..poppy123456 said:When it's backdated to will depend on the exact date you reported your health condition and the dates of your assessment periods (or when you usually receive your money each month) so approximately July/August 2020 but without knowing the exact dates it's impossible to tell you exactly.0

Good morning @ricky3776
How are you today?
I hope @poppy123456 has been able to answer your questions? I will also move your comment into our Universal Credits (UC) category, in the hope that others will be able to share their thoughts too on the matter. If you have any further questions or concerns, then please just let us know.

Hi poppy . I mentioned I’ve been providing sick notes since March 2020. I was assessed for limited capabilities for work in November 2021 and put on limited capabilities for work. A couple of days before the assessment I moved in with my partner( she’s on maturity leave) so had to change my claim to a joint claim . Does this affect the limited capabilities been backdated? Thank you0

Hi I’ve requested my limited capabilities be backdated but they’re taking a long time on making a decision, I thought I’d be entitled to some ?0
-
All you can do is leave a message onto your journal under the payments section and ask about the money that's owed. Please note, you keep saying "limited capabilities" but you will only receive extra money if the decision was limited capability for work related activity.
