Hi,Decision waiting times is anything up to 12 weeks, sometimes longer. You don't say which benefit this is for so i can't advise on the money question.0

Pip
As my friend got payment within 4 days and didn't know was awarded.0 -
Backlogs are huge so waiting times have increased considerably. 2-12 weeks is the estimated timescale. If successfully awarded and you're not transferring from DLA then any money owed is usually received before the decision letter. You've done all you can for now and all you can do is wait.0

Welcome to the community @heidiw48
Thanks for posting about your PIP experience so far. I hope that poppy123456's comment has helped you to feel more at ease. It's difficult to say exactly how long it'll be, but I hope you don't have to wait too long!
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing some feelings of anxiety and depression at the moment. Are you receiving any support to help you manage those conditions currently?0 -
No I'm not.the lady that done my pip assesment was lovely.i hope I get awarded something.i had assement Wednesday morning 3 days ago.there nothing in my bank yet.i got up doing pip assement over phone.as was talking about my self harming and depression.and my artherists.and chronic asthma.but I'm very anxious about if I will be awarded or not.as no payment yet.as friend said payment goes in 1st before disestion letter ECT1

It’s only been 3 days and with the huge backlogs you could be waiting several weeks, sometimes longer.

heidiw48 said:Ok.but lots of people are saying few days or a week they receive an unexpected money in there bank.and get letter weeks after xThere’s no guarantee that your decision is going to take the same length of time as other peoples. All you can do is wait.If successful you will more than likely receive the back pay before the decision letter. However if you are unsuccessful than there is no backpay so you would receive no money and only the decision letter.0

Hello, I know it may cause you some stress or anxiety waiting for the award notification letter, but you can contact the DWP and request a copy of your application assessment report and on receiving it you can work what your award may should or could be but you still have to wait for the official award notification letter. If the report reads not in your favour then you have several extra weeks to collect extra information and evidence to support your MR should you need or want to submit an MR. The Mandatory Reconsideration can only be ask for once you have received the official confirmation notification letter.0

A decision can also take between 2-12 weeks.
