Hi I'm wondering if someone could help me I've recieved standard rate daily care for 6years now for depression and anxiety.
I never got any points for following a journey or face to face but I always need help off family I did state all this but never got any points but never took it any further as I was scared they would stop my money.
I've recieved a letter today off pip saying we can check any other decisions we have made since your claim in 2017.does this mean I will be backdated any money due to the new pip law

    Hi,
The changes to following and planning a journey were for overwhelming psychological distress. For all decisions made after 28th November 2016 then will look at your claim again and if they think you should have been awarded either Standard or Enhanced mobility they will backdate your money to this date. Not everyone will be owed the money so no, it doesn't mean you will definitely be owed the money. It will depend on the reasons why you needed help with this activity.

Hi @magsta222 - & welcome to the community. Whether you'll get any money due to this will depend on whether it's thought you could get sufficient points to either get an award, or increase a current award; the DWP will decide about this. There's some info below on the 'engaging with other people face to face' too:

They are saying you can ask DWPO to look at the decision again to check that the award you were given is correct. It's not saying you should have been awarded more points. Whether you should have will totally depend on how your conditions affect you at the time you applied.

If it refers specifically to changes in the law then you cannot lose your award. They will only be looking at that specific activity to see whether or not you should have received more points against it.

By all means post a photo of the letter if you want to but make sure your name, address and NI number are not visible.
