This is my first time on anything like this but I feel I need some help and advice.... Just received my daughters first pip award letter was really stressful filling the form and telephone assessment she’s 16 .. she has had dla since she was little was on o2 from being born feeding tubes tracheotomy loads of meds ....was in hospital for the first year of her life and when she got school age SEN and adhd .... her award this time was high living but only ; points for Mobility... for moving round ..... letter states because she’s went to mainstream school and she’s in college that she can plan a route of a journey....and that she has no specialist input for mental health or anti anxiety medication ..... she’s see a day a the clinic for her mental health every 3 -4 weeks and on anti anxiety for adha and just at the minute trying to sort a autism test .. so I’m thinking of MR ..... she all so only got 1point for managing treatment .... but she’s on two different meds that I have to print her to take and she’s has Phisyo that I do in the day and night when she has coughing episodes and then has to be put on o2.... doesn’t seem right 1point ?....0

Just because she went to mainstream school doesn’t mean she function like most children her age.. she was constantly bullied and hid in the toilets most days it was a horrendous time ... she had support in all classes and out of class and the same in college...0

If she's been awarded Enhanced daily living then the managing therapy/monitoring health condition scoring more points here will make no difference to her award because she already has the maximum award for daily living.What was she awarded for mobility? Sorry but it's not clear, is it standard or Enhanced? and is she claiming PIP for physical and mental health conditions?0

She got 4 points moving around no points for planing and following a journey.... she doesn’t go anywhere without me or someone she knows.... she has no friends.... she can no plan a journey on her own she wouldn’t leave the house without anyone anxious and worried and wouldn’t know where she she is and panic ..0

She sees some for mental Heath and has meds for anxiety even though the letter states she doesn’t?...0

I would ignore that because that's a classic copy and paste reason which happens a lot.PIP is completely different to DLA and it's nothing to do with night/day time care like DLA was.If you're not happy with the mobility part then you can request the Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) you should state why you think she should have scored points here and your reason why. Include a couple of real world examples of what happened the last time she attempted that activity. Adding information such as what exactly happened, where was she, did anyone see it and what the consequences were.You can also get some expert advice from an agency near you. We have o2 tanks in the car which she’s had since she was young and awarded it on dla...0

DLA was completely different to PIP. I'm not saying she isn't entitled to Enhanced mobility because i have no idea exactly how her conditions affect her.

I have you reply with one month of date of award.... but she’s having a autism assessment but that will take longer...0

PIP isn't not about a diagnosis, so having the ASD assessment decision will make no difference. Usually a diagnosis is not in dispute.With good reason you actually have 13 months to request the MR but i see no reason to delay this based on the ASD assessment, which could take quite some time.0

Thankyou.... they say I have 1 month date on the letter is 31st January... only 28 day February so is that the dead line?....how many days does it take to get to get to them in the post ?....0

Yes but as advised with good reason you actually have 13 months. With the postal backlogs at the moment it can a few weeks for them to receive anything you send them.0

@Libby_Scope indeed yes but that’s rather misleading advice because with good reason as I advised you have 13 months. If DWP then refuse the late MR request you just proceed to Tribunal.1

Thankyou for your advice.... I think I need to send the information about her mental Heath appointments and anxiety meds again ... cos in the letter they stated that there was no evidence... but I sent it ?... and told them on the phone... I’ve already asked her mental Heath professional to daft a letter again from me with her medication and why we attend... do I just send my own drafted letter or do u apply for a form of some kind..0

Just read it says your award could go up or down worried about it going down and losing her enhanced daily award.... does this happen a lot?...0

I think you're missing the point here. If she's already been awarded Enhanced daily living, no amount of extra points will see any higher award.The parts you're reading about no medication or no specialist imput is classic copy and paste. Concentrating on this will not see her being awarded any mobility.
