Hi Scott981 @scott981 we used to have here @BenefitsTrainingCo who helped the most with similar question. However, please let me ask for advice @Ross_Scope and  @Tori_Scope. Please can someone move this post for  correct advice and to benefit category ? Thank you.

Hi and welcome to the community

What benefits you can get depend on your circumstances

There are mo benefits specific to having parkinsons

Your friend may be referring to pip or new style esa

Please look in our benefits section to find info on both these

Pip is a non means tested benefit for disabled people who are unable to carry out daily living and mobility tasks

    Any specific questions just ask

    Hey @scott981

Welcome to the community and thank you for your post.

I think it would be helpful for you to have a look on Advice Local's website to gain further professional benefits advice/support. Advice Local is a local guide to help with benefits, work, money, housing problems and more.

I will also move your comment into our benefits and financial support category, in the hope that our other members will share their experiences with you too.

If you have any other questions, then please let us know.

Your friend must be mistaken - that isn't possible.

Are you above or below pension age? Do you live alone or with a partner?
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Then it would be Attendance allowance you would need to look at claiming. https://www.ageuk.org.uk/information-advice/money-legal/benefits-entitlements/attendance-allowance/

I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
