Hey Scope
How's it all going out there in the real world....but of course most of us have been living this real world (can it get any worse carnage) for years! Tell me, can it get any worse?

I like many of you, am a disabled woman, who has tried every option I know how to not be the person I see in the mirror these days, defeated, dejected and at the end of my rope looking for a post to hang it over...

Whether this community can offer me the nourishment of hope is I think slim to nought! But hey, lets now close all the shutters before even knowing if there's a storm coming.

So, thanks for having me....hope your all feeling blessed.

    Good morning @DisaPPointed,
Just wanted to say that I hope you’re doing okay and have found the community to be a safe space, as it is for so many. I don’t know how you feel about poetry, but I’d like to leave a line to one of my favourites here, in case it resonates:
”Light hits everything at a different angle. I will make a habit of tilting my head.” from ‘A Prayer / A Spell’ by Sabrina Benaim. What you see in the mirror is not all there is, I promise. Take care of yourself out there <3

    Hi @DisaPPointed

Welcome to the community, thank you for making your opening post, it's nice to see you join us.

Thank you for speaking so honestly about how you feel, and I'm sorry to read of how you are feeling. It sounds as though you have been through a lot and that you are struggling to cope at the moment.

How are you at the minute? Do you have any friends or family members who can support you at this time?

I'm not sure whether you receive any support for your mental health, but if you are finding things hard to manage then it might be worth paying a visit to your GP to talk with them about how you feel, and they would be able to support you to work on your mental health. Also, organisations like Mind offer lots of useful advice such as this one which contains a range of coping techniques, it's important to do the things you enjoy to help yourself feel better.

    Hey

I like many of you, am a disabled woman, who has tried every option I know how to not be the person I see in the mirror these days, defeated, dejected and at the end of my rope looking for a post to hang it over...
    .
I was concerned especially to read this section of your post and what it suggests about your current mental health and well-being, please note that you can always contact Samaritans on 116 123 or text "Shout" to 85258 if you ever need to access immediate mental health support. Additionally, this community will always be here for you too, we are a community of supportive and welcoming people so I can assure you that you are amongst friends.

I will be in touch with the email address associated with your community account with further information, to see if we can support you at all, so please look out for our contact :)
