Private assessments for an EHCP appeal.

We have had to have a private EP, OT and SALT reports done for our ASD boy to provide information for our EHCP tribunal. The reports are very expensive, but are required as the LA have never had these reports carried out to the level of what's required to ensure the EHCP is enough to deal with his SEN needs. We would like to know if there is a process to reclaim these costs from the LA? If the tests were completed to the correct standard, we would not need to have had them re-done. TIA. Malc

Hi @Shortyelst
Welcome to Scope's forum. It is great to see you have joined us. How are you today? I hope you are well!
I have to admit in advance, reclaiming costs from the LA is not my area of expertise. This means I can only hope someone with more knowledge about this is able to respond to you soon.
However, in the meantime, I just wanted to say we hear you. How are feeling about the private reports and the process at the moment?0 -
You would need to go through their complaints procedure, stage 1 then stage 2 and sadly then through to the lgso and claim it back from their.Injustice or maladministration. Long process unfortunately.I have a private one done from the SALT but got this through legal aid0
