Work Capability Assessment

Hello,
I'm new on here, so I hope I'm doing this properly. Can anybody tell me firstly, how long do I have to wait to get a WCA done, and secondly, how long it takes before I get a decision on the assessment? I've looked on GOV.UK and I can't find anything

Hi,Backlogs are huge with people waiting for a work capability assessment and you could be waiting as long as 10 months, sometimes even longer.Once it's completed decision's can take anything up to 8 weeks. The reason you can't find anything on Gov.uk is because waiting times vary in all areas.1

Thanks for your response. So, basically, I'm in limbo until then? Those waiting times can't be acceptable - is there anything you can do to complain about this, or at least get things escalated?0

Hi and welcome to the community
Unfortunately that's just how it is at moment and not likely to ease for a long time yet . There has been massive influx of new claims
Not really anything you can do other than wait1 -
Thank you0

No, there's nothing at all you can do about it. The pandemic has caused massive backlogs and you're not the only person waiting. We have members here that have been waiting as long as a year and more.Teddybear12 said:If it is any consolation any payment will be back dated.
This will only apply if the OP is found to have LCWRA and they're not claiming UC with a partner that already receives this element on their claim. If the decision is LCW there's no extra money each month.1 -
You can of course raise it as a general matter of concern with your MP.kevinokeefe said:.. is there anything you can do to complain about this..1
