Hello @Denspark1893 and welcome, thanks for joining today. So that your query can be answered more easily, I've moved it over into our Universal Credit category, and edited the title slightly.

There's a full 3 month assessment period waiting time and the money is then paid from the 4th month of your claim from when you first reported your health condition.Your assessment periods are from 8th to 7th of each month. Your fit note was reported in AP Oct/Nov and it seems like they took that as the first month waiting. So the waiting period is as follows Oct/Nov, Nov/Dec, Dec/Jan.. LCWRA starts from AP 8th Jan to 7th Feb and first payment being 14th Feb so no backdated money is owed.Judging by so many others here waiting, you had the decision extremely quickly because people are still waiting a year from their first fit note.0

Can anybody tell me how carers allowance works. I was looking after my mum for 2 years before I got my own problems. Got paid c/a weekly. Then cancelled it on 8/02/22 they still deducted a months c/a from my benefit on 14/02/22. When do you think I will get it reinstated.0

If you have stopped being a carer you must also report that change to UC (if that is the benefit you are referring to).0 -

Hello Poppy, yes I told uc via journal. I also received a letter from c/a confirming the cancellation of c/a. As to which benefit it was (uc) . Hope this helps. Cheers.0

Post a message in your journal as a payments query reminding them taht you have told them you are no longer a carer and atet you no longer receive CA. Ask them to review your last payment.
When you told them you were no longer a carer did you do it as 'Report a change'?0 -
Yes. Reported as a change of circumstances0
