Disability assessment waiting time

Hi everyone im new here hope you all are well! just wondering if anybody could give me any guidance as to how long your supposed to wait for a disability assessment appointment ?  its now been six months since i completed my UC50 form and posted back...i actually am aware that in the grand scheme of things this isn't long as I've heard horror stories of people waiting over a year for an appointment! it just seems crazy to me that you have to wait six months for an assessment! anyway i hope you are well

Unfortunately due to huge backlogs and an influx of new claims and reduced resources people are waiting a long time for work capability assessment 

Not much you can do bit wait
