I submitted a late MR to pip (5 months late) due to my mental health spiralling and undergoing new psychiatrist appointments getting a new diagnosis etc.
I submitted a late MR to pip (5 months late) due to my mental health spiralling and undergoing new psychiatrist appointments getting a new diagnosis etc.
I receive standard care but I meet a lot more off the descriptors I believe, I have done a detailed letter and sent off my psychiatrist reports and a letter from my care coordinator.
I rang pip today to make sure they have received it all it’s been 5 weeks since I sent it, they have told me they can see on the system they have and it’s with someone and showing as “open”
does anybody know what this means?
does anybody know what this means?
Also Iknow everybody is different but how long did people wait from personal experiences?
Thankyou for reading.

They will only take into consideration what your conditions were like at the time the assessment took place. Any worsening of condition will not be taken into consideration. You can report a change of condition but a diagnosis is not a change of circumstances as such because PIP isn’t awarded based on any diagnosis. For decisions anything up to 12 weeks.1

@poppy123456 hi poppy Thankyou for the reply. My daily activities are still the same at the time off my assesment.
I was claiming for depression, anxiety, and a aortic aneurysm I also stated in my first assessment I am waiting to be assessed for bipolar which the assessor then turned around and said “you don’t have bipolar” also a big part in her scoring was no mental health input. But since this I now have a lot of mental health input and been diagnosed with bipolar.
So I went into details about my activities based on how all my mental health and aneurysm affects me? As I did the first time around but like I said she dismissed the “suspected” bipolar. It was the comment about it is with a case manager and showing open I didn’t understand?
does that mean a case manager is already reading it?Thankyou0 -
