What is PIP?

Hi i was wondering what is PIP? Is this a disability Allowence. I struggling to walk to my sons school 4 times a day & trying to get advice to see if there is some sort of disability allowance i can get & so it can pay for a car. I too suffer from sciatica & i do physio. It has stopped me working & i was a hairdresser & i can no longer do my job. I had to quit hairdresser last summer 2021. Just looking for advice please & thank you 🙂 Joh
