Are ESA reassessments affected by blacklogs?

I live in N.Ireland & I’m due to be reassessed for contribution based ESA later this year. Up to now I have always been reassessed every 3 years. Does anyone know if the system here is affected by backlogs?

Hi,
ESA Support Group is an ongoing award until a new decision says otherwise. The timescale they give you is nothing more than a guide.I don’t know what the backlogs are like there but in England they are huge and reviews will be the last thing on their minds.
Nothing more you can do but wait.0 -
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I’m already aware of your initial comments. I suppose this is a shout out to anyone in N.Ireland who’s ESA reassessment was much later than anticipated to get in touch.0 -
I honestly don't think you're going to get the answer you're hoping for because everyone's review time will be different so you can't compare anyone else to yourself. At the moment it's a case of "how long is a piece of string"

i get what you’re saying but you know for definite that there are backlogs in England. All I’m trying to find out is if the same applies here. That’s it.0

Hi @CelticQueen
Welcome to Scope's forum. It is great to see you have joined us.
Unfortunately, ESA is not my area of expertise. This means I can only hope someone with more knowledge in this area is able to respond to you soon.
Is the uncertainty something you are struggling with? I can imagine it being quite difficult.
Please know that we are all here for you and will help any way we can0 -

Hi @poppy123456
Thanks for your response. Yes, I hear you have tried to respond to @CelticQueen's question. Are you aware if the waiting times are similar in Northern Ireland to England though? Not sure how the differences are operating personally or if there are any differences!0 -
Going by other members here the backlogs in N. Ireland are the same as England. It's irrelevant anyway because it's an ongoing award. Even without backlogs they don't always reassess at the time they give you, it's just a guide.
