PIP RECONSIDERATION

Good evening. I received the result of my PIP reconsideration. I’ve gone from being awarded 0 points to 7. I called today as per letter to advise that I would be appealing the decision. The advisor told me to submit my appeal notice and thst prior to reaching the appeal board there would be a second reconsideration - I still feel a couple of key facts/points have not yet been fully considered. The. Advisor said that the majority of refusals are overturned at appeal.

About 68% of PIP appeals result in an improved outcome for the claimant.

Best of luck with your appeal @Dots
How are you feeling about it? 1 -
Thank you. A bit confused as the advisor on the call said that before if goes to appeal there will be a second review.0

When the DWP have to prepare the appeal papers another Decision Maker may carry out a further review. Sometimes at this stage they will offer you an improved award. If you accept the offer then the appeal lapses (but you can start a new appeal on the new decision if you wish).Dots said:Thank you. This is not correct. One thing to remember is the person you spoke to was from a call centre with almost no knowledge of the benefits system. They read from a screen.Dots said:Thank you. Sometimes people get offered an award before the hearing date but it’s rare for this to happen. You should expect to have to attend the hearing.1 -
We did think this as it’s nowhere in the guidance. I’m prepared to take to a tribunal as it’s been a catalogue of errors !!
