Tanya a girl I am caring for who is on the lower DLA and is claiming U/C is being constantly pestered to have an advisor interview even though she is suffering from sever mechanical back pain and has problems getting around and cant sit up for any length of time etc, she has been signed off with a fit note from her doctor, I have explained the situation to her advisor/s as it causes her a lot of stress and she has a panic attack on some occasions, but they just ignore what I say and carry on sending the appointment times. Is there anything I can do about this. ?

When claiming UC you are classed as a job seeker until a decision on a work capability assessment says otherwise. It’s a work coaches discretion whether they turn off work commitments. Some do, some don’t and others reduce them.0

Has she reported a health condition supported by Fit Notes and started a Work Capability Assessment process?0

Thankyou for your replies, and yes she has told them all her health conditions supported by Fit notes and she is sending the form off for a capability assessment this week, after being told by the jobcentre months ago they had been sent out, but it turns out they hadnt, I had to apply for them through her surgery. P/S I made a mistake with her DLA care component Its middle not lower.0
