Hi I can't walk very far due to postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, I've recently applied for PIP, waiting to hear back from them. I'd like to connect with people with similar issues in my area but I don't know how to find them. I am almost housebound and feel very isolated, I'd like some support but don't know who to contact. I looked up Dialuk but couldn't find a number for them and the number on the website for Scope gave a disconnected tone.

Hello @seaguz
Wishing you a warm welcome to the community, it's lovely to see you join us and I'm sure you'll enjoy taking part here. We're a supportive and friendly bunch, so if there ever any questions you want to ask then feel free.
I'm sorry to hear that you have experienced feelings of isolation lately, I'm sure that this community will be a positive outlet for you and help to ease that but in terms of your local area have you been in touch with your council? They may have a directory of events that they could share with you.
Sorry to hear that you couldn't get through to Scope, was it our helpline number that you called? I know that recently they had some issues with their lines and couldn't operate normally for a couple of days so perhaps that was the cause. Have you given them another go since?
I wish you all the best with your PIP claim, how are you feeling about it? Hope you get the decision soon and it's a positive one for you.0 -
Thanks teddybear12 I'm looking around the council website can see there's a list will look into that thanks! Ross-scope it was the number on this website tried today, I'll try again tomorrow. As for PIP it took me 3 months to write it out, and it felt like a lot, glad its done at least. I rang to ask if they had received the form, they have but because it took so long to do it was put it to MR on a call in March. As explained I had a couple of pages left to do. Will just have to wait and see what happens.0
