When i went for my assessment in the woman who saw me was nice and kind she was a physio herself so knew i was struggling, the issue for me was they made me wait 3 assessment periods before paying me the LCWRA element of UC so almost died of statvation until i got this, the worst months of my life but i aprechiate it now. I remember they sent me a email telling me the decision, i think it was if the claim was done within 4 weeks it eliminates any back payments, the email came 3 weeks and 5 days so no back payment for all that waiting, a kick in the teeth but oh well0

@paulmitch26 hi and welcome
That is the rules for lcwra additional payment there is no entitlement for the first 3 assessment periods . You were very lucky your claim was sorted so quick so you got the additional payment
Some including myself had to wait 13 months so yes get backpay but the wait is a real struggle for some people and they end up in debt as a result0 -
It doesn’t have anything to do with receiving the decision within 4 weeks.paulmitch26 said:i think it was if the claim was done within 4 weeks it eliminates any back payments,0
