Telephone assessment with no notice :/

Hi, I applied for PIP on mental health grounds in January and was told by the DWP two weeks ago that my claim was waiting on the assessment being arranged but that I should be notified by June about it.

Earlier this week, I got the call. No notice and was caught completely off guard. The call lasted for literally 12 minutes and that was only because I rabbited on because I was nervous as she said it was only going to be 5 minutes.  (Withheld numbers do that to me).

Now I’m freaking out that I’ve said the wrong things and that surely the assessment was far too short.

The written report has been received by DWP and I’m wondering if I get no award, will the fact I received no notice on the call, be significant as surely I should have been told when it was happening?

Many thanks xx

Sometimes they will ring you to ask a few questions before writing the report. It doesn’t sound like it was an assessment as such. If a paper based assessment can be done they will, although it’s rare.
If you put a mobile number down in the form then they often text you once the assessment report has been returned to DWP.

Thank you @poppy123456 :) Yes, I got the text today to say the DWP had received the written report. Just all seemed too quick. All they asked me about was the medication I’m on and how often I go out. I just rambled! :/

Try not to worry too much, I know it’s easier said than done but I would say it’s a paper based assessment, which is a good thing.

I’m going to try call them tomorrow to request a copy of the report. Thank you so much! I’ll keep you posted on the outcome x.
