Hi @Vega911. Welcome to Scope's forum. It is great to see you have joined us. How are you today?

What a great question you have asked! Unfortunately, this is not an area of my expertise. This means I can only hope people with more knowledge in this area are able to respond to you soon.

In the meantime, I just wanted to respond to greet you and let you know we have heard your question  :)

Decision Makers are usually graded as an EO on the Civil Service grading system, which stands for Executive Officer.

These roles are purely administrative so you do not need any special or specific qualifications or experience to be appointed.

I would imagine but don’t know for sure that they would receive internal training for the areas they would be working within and also receive an induction and ongoing professional development.

Thank you for that. Basically then, they just go along with the assessors judgement!!

There job is to look at the assessment report alongside anything else they have access to.

Hello @Vega911 I'm glad to see our members replies have been helpful :)

As Mark says, the decision maker's job is to look at your application as a whole, so they don't always agree with the assessor- but this is usually fairly rare.

Let us know if there's anything else that comes up in the meantime, and I hope you've been enjoying the weekend so far!
