hi hope all is well , my son has his wca assesemant on phone monday morning ( hopefully had 2 appointments cancelled on day of assesment ) 
Im my son appointiee as he can not communcaite and will not speak to people and limited understanding  when i spoke to the person who rang me to comfirm attending  they ave said he has to speak now im worried  hes going to fail  the assesement  what is the point of me being hid appontiee  if i cant speak on pip  i was able to  speak for him    can anyone help me understand how i go about it on monday as my son has to be in same room as me and he will just prob say yes  or nothing to them

    If you are his official appointee for his UC claim and this was all set up correctly then you will be able to speak on his behalf. 
    I claimed UC for my daughter last January and I’m her appointee. The work capability assessment letter was addressed to me. I was able to speak on her behalf during the telephone assessment last year.
    They did ask if they could very quickly say hello to her and that was it. My daughter said hello and gave the phone back to me.
    If it’s a face to face assessment he will need to attend with you but you will still be able to speak on his behalf.

    ty for ur quick reply  yes i am official appointee had a lady come out to housde who asked him questions then i was made appointee, all letters adressed to me  , it is a telephone assesment

    Was this for the PIP claim? Or the UC claim? An appointee for PIP doesn’t cover UC.

    hi it  is for his uc claiim  i do have a BF57 form stating im the appointee issued by dwp x

    hi hope all is well just update assesement went fine monday i was allowed to speak after he said hello, just got desicion today only waited 3 days , this is award letter does this mean he will get extra money

    Yes. Note that it may take longer than the 7 days the letter says before you get any arrears.
