Hi all, I have been lurking for a while now.
Today I received my decision for my PIP claim. I scored 2 points.

In the paragraph explaining the decision there are many errors. It’s says I am not taking anti anxiety meds every day, have no specialist input from a mental health team, can talk on the phone to financial/companies, and can follow the route of a journey.
I do take my meds everyday, have an nhs counsellor, cannot talk on the phone to financial institutions or any companies and can only drive to a supermarket that is 1/2 mile away that I have been going to for 20 years.

There are other inconsistencies from my assessment too. It’s like everything I said I couldn’t do they have decided I can.
I have just completed a Mandatory Reconsideration on the phone. Now for the wait again.

Hello @Lawny and welcome to the community
This is a very supportive and welcoming site to be a part of so I’m hopeful that you’ll find it to be a positive outlet. Feel free to have a look around and get involved wherever you’d like 😊 I have included below a few of the pages I’d recommend having a look through to get used to things:
- The virtual coffee lounge which is one of our categories, in which we play games and talk about general subjects such as hobbies and interests
- The recent discussions page, which shows an overview of everything happening across the community
- The categories page, which shows a full list of discussion groups on the community
If you have any questions at all then don’t hesitate to ask.
Sorry to hear about how your initial claim went, but hopefully the MR results in a better outcome for you. I imagine it must be really frustrating that the assessor's report didn't reflect what you told them.
Regarding your mental health, do you receive any support to manage it at all?

Hi Ross,
I have counselling once a week via NHS but am not finding it to be beneficial, just a lot of telling me how to breathe. I was really hoping to use any PIP award for a private counsellor/therapist.I have suffered from depression and GED for most of my life and have always managed to middle through. This recent episode (caused by workplace bullying in my last 2 jobs) has really hit harder to the point where I am not the same person I used to be.0 -
It's much better to put your mandatory reconsideration in writing most are rejected anyway so you might need to go to tribunal but it would be hard to give detail needed on phone. Could you follow up with writing some stuff to them??0

Thanks, that’s a good point. I will look into a follow up on writing.0
