Hello…..hope someone can help, this is all way too confusing!!
New UC claim, if someone is claiming CA for me can I have the LWRCA (I think that’s the name) in my claim? Or does that make a difference? This is making me mega stressed out 😩🤦♀️ TIA

No because someone claiming Carers allowance for looking after you has nothing to do with LCWRA. To claim this you need to report a change of circumstances and report your health condition. Within 7 days of this you must report a fit note from your GP and continue to send them until a decisions been made on the work capability assessment. The work capabilty assessment assesses your ability to do any type of work. There's some information here. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/universal-credit-if-you-have-a-disability-or-health-condition-quick-guide/universal-credit-if-you-have-a-disability-or-health-condition

Ok thankyou, I think that makes sense! I will read that, I’m not very familiar with the benefits system, only the CA and PIP bit, and CB have no idea how it works, so frustrating……Thankyou for your help.
For clarification does this mean CA gets cancelled then the LWRCA gets added on when it’s shown that this is eligible from fit notes? Or am I really on the wrong page? I will read the above link!0 -
Someone else claiming CA for looking after you doesn't affect your UC unless the person is your partner and you'll be claiming UC as a couple.
