Lcwra advice. When will I get my first payment? Am I owed any back pay?

Hi can somebody give me a timescale as to when I will receive my first payment and possibly backdated money. Cheers. 

First fit note - 23/7/21

Received uc50 form - start of December 2021- Not sure why it took them 5 months to send me it I was thinking they had some sort of backlog.

Sent back uc50 form back on 26th January 2022 late due to me having covid and needing help from my mum to fill in the form.

June 1st 2022 - Received letter for a wca telephone assessment for 17th June 2022. 

6th July - received letter saying I’ve been awarded lcwra. 

Any advice on when I get my first payment and if I’m owed any back pay would be much appreciated. Thanks

First payment would be either Nov or Dec. When exactly it’s paid from will depend on what date you usually receive your money each month. (Or the dates of your assessment periods)

Thanks for the reply. So do I have to wait 3 months from the date of being accepted for lcwra or do you mean 3 months from  giving my first fit note?

I get paid on the 25th of every month

The waiting period is 3 full assessment periods from when you reported your health condition. It’s then paid from the 4th month. 

When I said payable from Nov/Dec I meant 2021 not this year.

Okay thanks. Do you have any idea if I would be eligible for back payments as I’ve had no extra money from them and I give them my first fit note on 23rd July 2021 but only recently been accepted for lcwra. I’ve been waiting a long time possibly due to the backlog.

I can’t tell you exactly when because you haven’t answered this question.

I did answer the question I said I get paid the 25th of every month

Sorry I missed that. That means your waiting period will be Aug/Sept, Sept/Oct, Oct/Nov… LCWRA starts from assessment period 19th Nov to 18th Dec,
first payment will be 25th December 2021.
Money owed will be paid separately to your usual monthly money. First they need to recalculate your past statements to work out exactly how much is owed. Once this is done you’ll receive a letter on your journal telling you how much is owed. It often takes a few weeks to do this. It will then be paid into your bank.
