Correct amount?

I just read online that if I receive PIP or DLA (I do) that the amount of ESA I receive increases. Is this the case?
The amount I get went down some years ago when I was moved to the working group or something like that.
Has anyone else been in this position?

If you are on income based ESA, receive Daily Living apart of PIP or at least mid rate Care DLA, live alone (or only live with other adults who also get a disability benefit) and nobody receives Carer's Allowance or the carer element of Uc for looking after you then you are entitled to get the Severe Disability Premium added to your ESA (backdated to whenever you first met those conditions). Ring ESA to a sk for it to be added.
You cannot get the SDP if you are on new style ESA or are getting contribution based ESA only and are excluded from income based ESA.
If you were moved from Support Group to Work Related Activity Group then your ESA would go down. The SDP is separate.
Did you challenge the move from Support Group to WRAG?0 -
Receiving PIP or DLA doesn’t automatically qualify you to extra money with your ESA.It will depend on what disability benefit award you have and your other circumstances, such as who you live with and if anyone claims carers allowance or carers element of Universal Credit for looking after you.The Work Related Activity Group is less money than the Support Group. How much it is will depend on when your claim for ESA started.0
