Yes I've been given a strong ibuprofen get on prescription I'm doing that 3 times a day ,yes I have excersises to do but can only do them when the pain isn't bad , there only gentle ones but hurt to do then I seem to pull something else when I do them but I try and work through the pain then after find myself on the settee with a heat pad and pain killers again, this has been over 4 months so I'm losing the will a bit because excersises put me in more pain, I do go for a walk every day too I'm doing all what I e been told but just taking so long to feel any benefits, so I'm hoping the amtitriptyline will relax me in time because that's something I can't do always tensed, thank you x0

I can hear that this is making you lose the will a bit @jackieann3. Understandably so when the things you are being recommended are making the pain feel worse.
How are you currently finding the medication and heat pad? It sounds frustrating but, unfortunately, your medical team are better placed to support you through this!
Please feel free to keep us in the loop with how you are doing though. We are all here for you, even if that is just providing a listening ear

Yes I was told it will take a bit of time because of not moving much for so long when I had my shoulder replacement December, but thank you for listening I will keep in touch x0
-
Yes tension wont help, amtitriptyline should help, did your doctor give you any idea about how long to try with them meds. @jackieann3 as sometimes these things can take a bit of time,0
-
Yes they can take at least 2 weeks to work and I've only been taking them 5 days so I'm hopfull they will help relax me a bit fingers crossed x0
-
Bless you @jackieann3 you not had a very good year so far, think all you can do is try and do whats comfortable for you and hopefully things will improve,

Also, have you thought of asking your GP Doctor about referring you to a Pain Management Program?
Take care
