How did everyone start their EHCP and how long did it take them please?

I am new to all this just wondering what everyone is with ehcp

    My daughters college referred her. Once a referral is made if they agree to an assessment then the process can take up to 20 weeks. If they refuse to issue an EHCP they must inform you of the decision not to issue it within 10 weeks. If this happens you can appeal the decision.
    My daughter had the EHCP and from memory hers took around 18 weeks from when she was referred. This was quite a few years ago but the process hasn't changed at all during that time.

    @poppy123456 is right that educational settings can apply for EHCPs. However, if your child's educational setting doesn't apply, you can also apply through your local authority!
