Pip review awaiting for assessor not sure how long this takes . Been nearly 6mths since they recieved my review. I did think about withdrawing my claim due to stess but decided not to . Does anyone know what awaiting an assessor means exactly because im thinking maybe f2f assessment and this I don't mind because I have nothing to hide and feel a f2f would benefit my claim better

There are huge backlogs of people waiting for assessments for reviews so your is very likely in the pile of others also waiting. The assessment can either be face to face, video call or telephone call. If you prefer face to face then you can ask them for this but you'll either need to ring the health assessment providers or wait for an appointment and if it's not face to face you can ring and cancel it and then as for face to face.I know it's a very stressful wait but please try to think about something else in the meantime. There are some members here than are still waiting a year after returning their review forms.1

What sorts of things are you doing to stay busy @dm720? I'd be interested to know0

Today I rung pip they said that my claim was waiting an assessment and give me the number to ring . I rung the assessment provider and they said my claim hadnt even been sent over and ti ring the pip line back . Unfortunately after ringing them earlier and it taking over a hour to get through I havnt got the energy to wait again another hour for them to answer . Could you tell me if this is normal and that they could of made a mistake and not sent my review to assessment as why would they say they don't have it .1

Also I was told on the phone by pip my review had gone for assessment 20th May as my condition seems to of got worse so I asked well if I was entitled to more money wouldnt I be out of pocket with your backlog he then advised me if a higher award was made it would be back dated now I'm sure that's incorrect as other people have said that if the dwp do the review and I havnt requested it then you don't get back pay . Im so confused I feel like crying . I will ring pip back tomorrow and tell them I've rung the assessment people and how they saying they havnt even recieved my case0

They don’t always send your file across to the health assessment providers straight away, it depends on backlogs.
I know it’s very stressful waiting but it’s not helping your stress levels by ringing them like this.
Please try to find something else to concentrate on and try to put this review to the back of your head. I appreciate that it’s difficult to do that but it will only be worse by ringing them like this.0 -
Thanks for your advice poppy realy appreciate it . I won't ring them again now was just worried they'd made mistake and not sent my review to assessment centre as they stated .0

With regards to the money if this decision is successful and its a higher award, for a review started by DWP they don't usually backdate any money. However, there has been a few members here that have had a higher award at review and received money from when they returned the forms. I can only assume this is due to the backlogs. I'm not saying this is the same for everyone though.
