This is a subject that I personally find incredible. Yes, I know that because of the recent push by the government to make a claim the figure has come down by up to 25%.
People probably don't realise that these people, the poorest of the poor, the aged, are only existing with little in any quality of life. The government is making annual savings at the present rate of £1.7bn.
What you also have to take on board is that because they, like myself, are and have not received £100's of COL payments. All of the COL payments that are geared for pensioners to being in receipt of a means tested benefit are not being made to 850,000 pensioners.
I chose not to make a claim as the management of such a claim is beyond me.
Why is there not an outcry from the public at large to make sure that the government does not use these people as a means to raise more money by the Chancellor?
