Hi can anyone tell me why my attendance allowance claim is taking so long I called them and they said because of the postal strike it could take up to 12 weeks.

Hi,You`ve answered your own question.0

Hello and welcome @Ourbillieboy2 thanks for reaching out with your query, I think the postal strike may well be contributing to the delay.
It's also worth bearing in mind that there are quite large backlogs being processed at the DWP, so unfortunately that means a bit of a wait.
Is there anything you're especially worried about or need help with while you're waiting?
Please do ask if you feel we can help with anything further, and we'll do what we can to assist

Welcome to our community!
Just to let you know, I've popped your post over to our PIP, DLA & AA part of the forum, in case anyone else could be of more help.
Hoping that it won't be too long a wait for you! How are you keeping? Have you checked out our Coffee Lounge?0 -

How will I know if Attendance Allowance has contacted my doctor? I still haven’t heard from them. It’s been nearly 8 weeks and they all they say is phone back?0

You will only know if your GP tells you. Decisions for AA are currently taking about 12 weeks, sometimes longer.Ourbillieboy2 said:How will I know if Attendance Allowance has contacted my doctor? I still haven’t heard from them. It’s been nearly 8 weeks and they all they say is phone back?0
