Just wondering if anyone could help me, I'm travelling to the USA for a wedding with my controlled meds, has anyone done this before? And could tell me how I apply for this to happen, as can't seem to find a definitive answer. I also will need my wheelchair and leg braces and back brace (I have Eds) many thanks everyone Xx

Hi @janine31 - & welcome to the community. There's some info here, with further links that may help you: https://www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/medicines/can-i-take-my-medicine-abroad/I also have EDS, so appreciate your concerns about travelling with mobility issues. Your travel agent may be able to find out more for you, or the airway company you intend using. You should mention your disability for travel insurance also.

I have been to many different countries in the past which include, Turkey, Dominican Republic, Canary Islands, Greece and have never had any issues. When i travelled to Turkey i had a letter from my GP but they didn't even look at it or ask for it.I made sure i kept all the medication in the original boxes, with the exception of what i needed for the day of travel. The boxes will have your name on the front so there shouldn't be any problems and yes i also take controlled drugs.I've also had airport assistance at home and away, going and returning. You need to arrange this before the day you travel and can do this by contacting the airport you're flying from. When i did this they asked me if i wanted assistance in the country of destination as well so they could arrange that too.0
