You say you’re getting 800, is that £800 and what is this for please? Is it a pension?
Are you currently claiming any benefits? Sorry but more information is needed before anyone can help you further.

    Hi @carol10 :)

It seems as though you had some trouble posting at first. This is something other people have experienced, so we're looking into it currently.

I've got a few questions for you, if that's okay?
    • What type of device are you using? e.g. phone, laptop, desktop, tablet
    • What browser are you using? e.g. Chrome, Safari, Edge
    • Do you use any device plug-ins?
    • Do you use any assistive tech with your device?
    • Could you see that multiple posts were being made, or did it look like you were just writing and posting one post?
You can reply by emailing community@scope.org.uk if you'd prefer.

I've closed your duplicate posts, but haven't deleted them for now. This isn't because you've done anything wrong. It's just so that we can use them to look into this issue. I hope that makes sense!

I see from another thread that the £800 is a pension. New style ESA maybe possible if you’ve paid the correct amount of NI contributions in tax years April 2019 to March 2021. As your pension is more than £85 per week there will be a 50p/week deduction in the ESA for every £1 over that amount.
Your monthly pension works out as £184 per week. This means that there will be about £50/ week deduction for your ESA. As the ESA pays £77 per week before deductions you will only be entitled to about £27/week.
If placed into the Support Group this will increase by about £40/week from 14th week if your claim. You will need a fit note to be able to claim this.

There’s also Universal Credit but as it’s a means tested benefit if you live with a partner you need to claim as a couple and your joint circumstances will be taken into consideration.
Your pension will reduce your entitlement £1 for £1 so there may not be any entitlement. You will need to use a benefits calculator to check. https://www.entitledto.co.uk/benefits-calculator/Intro/Home?cid=63538ee5-00d9-4146-897d-93799ff48633
You can also look at claiming PIP. It’s not means tested but whether you qualify will depend on exactly how your health conditions affect you. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/pip/
