Hello @peteskinner
Welcome to the community!
I'm so sorry, back pain is not something I know a lot about myself.
Just to let you know, I've popped your post into our Chronic Pain and Pain Management section, in the hopes you'll find some more members of the community to talk to about it.
Feel free to ask questions, post in other sections and if you join us in the Coffee Lounge, we play games, talk about our interest and recent events0 -
Hi Hannah thank you, as you probably know I'm new on scope so still finding my way around I think I have looked on the coffee lounge, I will have to look for the chronic pain section, not quite sure if I have already been there many thanks Pete1

Hi @peteskinner. It sounds like you are not doing anything wrong but rather the right people have not yet found your post, does that make sense?
Hopefully, you will hear from the right people soon. In the meantime, my fibromyalgia started with back pain and at the time it was really difficult to deal with.
I can, at least, empathise with you. Is there anything, in particular, about back pain that you would like to chat about?0 -
Hi Hannah thank you for your reply sorry I've not returned a reply to you I've had a few things to deal with the past few days, my daughter gets a bit fed up listening to me going on about pain, at times the pain makes me feel quite unwell, I've read up on fibromyalgia, my doctor said I havnt got that but I'm not so sure I agree with her, today i had an appointment with an eye specialist, eyes are not good, I live alone and find day to day life difficult, I have pain in my neck back legs, sorry Hannah it gets me down, tc x0

Hello @peteskinner
I'm so sorry to hear that your eyes haven't been good. Did the eye specialist say anything about what would happen next? If you feel unsure about your GP's response, you can request a second opinion. I hope they are able to find out how to help you soon.
I've seen that you managed to make it to our Coffee Lounge
The community here are such a lovely bunch. We're here if you need want to talk, vent or need advice.0 -
Hello Hannah, thank you for your message, I didn't get much of a chance to message anyone yesterday I had hospital then I stayed at my daughters last night, the eye specialist has given me another appointment in 3 months, my right eye, the recent cataract eye is perfect, my left is playing up we think down to steroids the specialist did say there is a treatment that may help, but could also cause blindness!! So I have decided to see how things go I've made an appointment with the optician's, to sort out the correct glasses, thank you so much fir your concern take care Pete x0

Hello @peteskinner
Did you have a nice time at your daughters?
I'm sorry to hear you had such a catch 22 with the steroids. Will keep my fingers crossed that if you go for the other treatment, it will help! 🤞 You'll have to keep us all updated
