PIP Renewal Advice

Hi everyone,
I won my PIP appeal almost 2 years ago now and was awarded it for 3 years (1 year was backdated). I’m a bit unsure what happens with the renewal, I’ve seen some people say there’s an automatic extension at the moment but I don’t want to rely on that without checking. I’ve also been told PIP will contact me re:assessment rather than me having to contact them to apply again, but again don’t want to rely on this being the case.

I hate that there isn’t any other option to contact the PIP department other than by phone 😩 I’m too anxious to phone but also feel anxious about my payments suddenly ending!
If anyone has been through the renewal process recently I’d be really grateful to hear your experiences
Thank you x

In normal times DWP will contact you about 14 weeks before for those awarded by Tribunal. Sometimes they extend awards but not always.
