Hi Pete1953,
Welcome, great to have you here. We'd love to find out more about you if you have a moment to share? -
Hi, I'm 65 years old in February and have been Medically retired for four years with a Spine disorder and now spend most of the day in a wheelchair. I have type two Diabetes, which until twelve months ago, was treated by a combination of tablets and Insulin (but not very well). I made the decision to cease taking Insulin and after consultation with my GP, changed my tablets from Metformin to Gliclazide. Since then my sugar levels are greatly reduced and my regime, back on track. Although my type two is an important part of my life, my incapacity is my prime concern and a worry for the future. I have the amazing support of my family and my wife who is my registered Carer. Without their strength I would not be able to cope. I am happy to share my experiences with the group, which may be of some help to fellow sufferers.
