hey 😊 my daughter was awarded Dla til she was 18 by the tribunal, she has just turned 16 and I’ve done the pip forms in, will they take into account her Dla award was til 18?
Probably not, what matters most is the PIP application as it's replacing her DLA.
They are different benefits with different criteria also.
Hello :) Wishing you and your daughter all the best and hope you successfully receive the PIP support, sending warmth to you both 😊
The DWP will not consider the tribunal's original DLA award length because the transition to PIP at age 16 legally overrides it under completely different adult criteria. Her current payments will continue uninterrupted throughout the assessment and for exactly 28 days after a decision is made, at which point PIP will either take over or all payments will stop. While the remaining award time does not matter, you should reuse all the medical evidence from that successful tribunal to support her new PIP claim.
The value must be greater than or equal to 1.
