My son has Autism & Learning Disabilities, and have found so much how he is excluded from the community he lives in and the world who has no disabilities. I am exasperated and tired of meeting shut doors, and funding cut for this and that. 6 schools in Northern Ireland are being consolidated into one special needs school. How on earth is this going to work.
My son is also going to High School, and I am more frightened than he is.
Enough of the moaning, and Hi everyone.

Hello @jenfourie0077 and a warm welcome to the community. Very glad to have you with us.
You might find it useful to have a look at our category/forum on ASD at https://community.scope.org.uk/categories/learning-disabilities-and-autism, where you will find other parents and conversations to read or join in with.
I worked as a lowly Learning Support Assistant in a High School, so have an idea of what you face. I'm here if there is anything I can do or say to help.
We also have an ASD advisor here, at https://community.scope.org.uk/categories/ask-an-asd-advisor
And moan away. That is at least a part of what we're here for and you are perfectly entitled to grumble
Warmest best wishes to you,
Richard1
