I am so confused..I have received my back pay from being on the wrong ESA, was put on con bases when it should have been income related, now what happens next? On the letter there was one sentence that sent me in a spiral... "This money will not taken in to account now but may affect future benefits" I have secondary progressive MS and have not worked for many years now so I am reliant on my benefits. It's there fault they got it wrong but now they've said here ya go that's what's owed I still feel like I am going to be punished for having it. Please help the stress is haveih a detrimental effect on my condition.

Hello @Lyndrix Pleased to meet you welcome.
Thank you for joining and sharing. Sorry what you have been going through.
Understand benefits are complex and confusing.
There may be some one from our community or a member of our team might get in touch. They will give you an answer.
Have you spoken to CAB they have a lot of knowledge on benefits. May be something to consider speaking to them.
Have a look at Employment issues, finances and ESA for further information, advice and posts from our community members.
Might be useful.
Hope that helps.
We are a supportive, friendly community. Please ask if we can advise on anything. Some one will know.
Please take care

Wow thank you so much, this has been invaluable to me. I have been so worried. So each March when HB and council tax benefit send me a letter saying "my award has been reviewed" this is a continuation not a new one.?
I don't 're-apply'. So my award that £19000+ is disregarded? also I set up a£5,500 ISA on a 2 yr fixed rate, will that be taken into account or disregarded after 52weeks?
Thanks again for helping. Xx -
Hi@Lyndrix
Good Morning!!!!
Yes they are checking your current award to make sure that everything is ok.
This doesn’t mean that you have to reply again.
Is the ISA new???
Was it on the original award???
