steve51 said: Hi @Saffy Welcome to our online community /family.I am very very sorry to hear about your current situation. I have had "Chronic Pain" since 2005.As my Pain is "Neuropathic"I'm unable to have any Physio as this would only make things much worse.@steve51 I've had fibro since about 97 so have spent years learning to live with it and adjust my life accordingly.I'm v surprised I've been told I need physio as touch is extremely painful. I don't think whoever it was who told me I needed it (Dr, nurse practitioner, cleaner!) Had actually read my notes. It's amazing how you adapt to chronic pain but it doesn't make it easier, you just get good at pretending it's ok.
Adrian_Scope said: Hi @Saffy and welcome to the community. Really sorry to read this. There's quite a few people here with fibromyalgia so hopefully you'll get plenty of support from those who can really relate. Are you going to try and go back to your doctor?
brydiedwards said: @Saffy I imagine it must be so frustrating when treatment becomes less personal, especially with chronic/ongoing illnesses. I've had a similar experience with feeling my physio has been too rough, including being repeatedly told to keep my feet forward instead of inward and the physio completely ignoring my ankle deformity. I definitely think it's worth speaking up if you feel they are being too rough but I understand it can be hard being assertive with a medical professional. At the end of the day you know your body/pain better than anyone so hopefully they will listen to you
brydiedwards said: @Saffy Wow, I'm sorry the physio has left you in so much pain. Fingers crossed he's considerate and you can find something that works for you.
Chloe_Scope said: Morning @Saffy, I'm sorry it had such an affect. It's hard for us to suggest things because we are not medical professionals but it is important that your physio knows the effect that the session has had on you. I hope they become more understanding!
