Hello everybody!
2. You are above the age of 18
3. You can commit to participating in an interview
4. You will have a stable internet connection to allow for an online interview
5. You do not yourself have a formal mental health diagnosis.
I am a UK undergraduate Psychology student doing my 3rd-year dissertation and I am looking for volunteers to participate in my research. The topic of my research is investigating parent’s experiences of female neurodiversity – specifically, I am looking to explore the experiences of parents of women with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and/or autism spectrum conditions (ASC) diagnoses. These conditions have been found to have significant diagnostic overlap and it is theorised that these overlaps are likely to be very impactful for those closely affected. However, there is, as yet no research that exists that has allowed women or their parents to directly share their thoughts and experiences on this overlap and how it has impacted them. Therefore, this research aims to allow the parents of neurodivergent women to do exactly this! As part of this research, I will need to interview participants via Zoom. These interviews will be semi-structured and will last approximately 45 minutes.
Please contact me directly (or email me, if you prefer, at anh0775@my.londonmet.ac.uk) if you are interested in participating in the research and if you meet all of the following criteria:
1. You are the parent of a child with BPD and/or ASC2. You are above the age of 18
3. You can commit to participating in an interview
4. You will have a stable internet connection to allow for an online interview
5. You do not yourself have a formal mental health diagnosis.
Your email address (or any other messaging platform) will only be used by me to contact you regarding this project. I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about this research and I look forward to hearing from you!
Thank you so much for reading! Please feel free to share this post with anyone you know that may also like to take part.
