They have always made my life good, even the gold fish!@katz23 Cleo was bred by the army to be black for mountain rescue work. Their black bodies can be seen against the white of the snow. GSD's are the most wonderful dogs. But the army wanted male dogs, who are perceived as being stronger than bitches. So that is how I got to get Cleo. She cost quite a lot of spondoolies (due to her pedigree) but she was worth every nickle and dime!My first dog was Pip, I was 11 when I had him. He was a Golden Retriever. We had moved from London to Norfolk. My rabbit Pinky died, and I was screwed up about that. I used to take him to school with me. It wasn't really approved, but I wouldn't go to school unless I could take Pinky with me. So they just had to accept me and my rabbit.Taking Pip to school was a bit problematic. I wasn't allowed to take him to school. I have no idea why you can't take your dog to school. Kids love dogs and it is really good socialisation for the dog. Anyway, they refused point blank to let me take Pip to school, so I didn't go to school for 3 or 4 years. Norfolk Education threatened me with this, that and the other. They sent multiple truant officers around. I kept telling them "when I can take Pip to school I will go to school" but they didn't listen so I didn't go to school. These days, I accept I cannot have an animal. I cannot have a pet and that is that. Pets need to be looked after, and I can't do that anymore.
