My good left hand has been doing the job of 2 and now reached a stage where it’s giving up, my son of 12 helps me with general tasks such as washing and cooking. I have always worked as I have never wanted to rely on the state . Applied for pip, received the outcome letter stating they have given me the standard rate as they believe I only am entitled to 9 points after my telephone assessment. A person who does not even know what I go through everyday reviewed my claim. I am so upset. It’s not about the money it’s the principle. I know people who have full function of their upper body and receive the same rate, Now I have to appeal. What made it worse the assessor stated “ if you situation changes let us know” like my hand is going to grow back anytime soon. The system is dis functional. You can request a Mandatory Reconsideration, to gain the points you need, do it in writing, giving 'real world examples' of how your conditions effect you most days. Use the CRMR1. Make sure you get Proof of Postage.https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/pip/appeals/mandatory-reconsideration-pip/
