Hello, I am currently attempting a part-time degree with the open university and after reading the student loan finance guidelines previously, I was sure that you didn't have to repay the loan if you aren't working. I am due to re-apply again and just asking if anyone else knows if this is still the case? If you are not able to work would they still come after you for the money?

    No, if you aren’t working or earning less than £27,295 a year then you don’t have anything to pay. Student Finance will try and receive your employment status automatically from HMRC and if unsuccessful then they will write to you and ask.

    What @bg844 said, you have to earn a certain amount of money before you start repaying your student loans @fnd_fibro_ed. You should also be able to find this information on the student loans page. Please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything else we can do to help  :)
