Which is the best to have as a tree topper… A Star or an Angel? [Day 6]

Hannah_Alumni

It's been a debate in my house for years!

The argument is that an angel is more traditional, but a star feels more like Christmas.

In the end, I picked a Disney Tree Topper 😂 So, every year we have a star with Tinkerbell sitting on it!

What do you think is the best for a Christmas tree topper?

We tend to change each year, I've never seen angels as traditional though. We've had stormtroopers, Shrek, pipe cleaner dog angels (The year we lost our beloved old dog) and yes, even a star.

I think it's nice to mix things up.

We tend to have a fairy but we put one of the Christmas tree lights up her skirt so she lights up.

Steals the stormtrooper from @Albus_Scope...

@66Mustang Haha! that's brilliant 😂 I do think having a fairy is like the alternate to the traditional angel. But like Albus said, not many see an angel as traditional. Unless it's more of an American concept?

Need to send her on a spa day @woodbine!

Would you ever change it to something other than an angel @Beaver79?

Ooo interesting!

Do the children pick the angel?

Definitely angel for putting on a tree & mine is fibre optic & it's her 23rd Christmas. Always had an angel before this one too. I have two fibre optic trees as well, they have built in stars.

I've always had a star, not always the same one. I actually broke it this year while putting the tree up on Monday so had to buy another. My tree is always decorated red and silver with warm white lights.

Thankfully, my cat isn't at all bothered and just likes to sit underneath, thinking we can't see him..

rather difficult to hide under a green tree when you're white

Rosabelle

Have a little angel with legs made of beads and feathery wings. She's very fetching but not sure where I found her.

I have a star ⭐️ I’m sure growing up it was always an angel 👼

@Beaver79 I never think of the Garden Centre.. although @Albus_Scope loves a visit there!

Poppy 😂 That would be the worst game of hide and seek! Have you got a new star for this year?

@Rosabelle Aww she sounds really cute!

@Lou67 What made you decide on a star when you had your own tree?

Interesting answers! So maybe, angels are seen as a little more "traditional" 🤔 Maybe stars on trees came in with decorating trends?

@Hannah_Scope
Good morning Hannah I hope your keeping well.

I think it was more to do with it tying in with my tree decorations.
I definitely think an Angel is much more traditional.

I think I’m getting a new tree next so might get an Angel then 😊

We went less traditional and more modern with a large flowing bow
