My name is Olivia, I am a PhD Researcher at the University
of Kent, investigating ‘Experiences of Cerebral Palsy and Multiple Sclerosis in
Britain Between 1980 and 2010’. I am passionate about improving disability
accessibility, visibility, social perceptions and treatments, and feel that
studying history, from the perspective of the people impacted, is the way to
do this.
As part of my historical research project I am looking for
people who were living in Britain and had CP or MS between 1980 and 2010,
families/carers of people with CP or MS in this period, or anyone who worked
for charities (such as SCOPE, the MS Society, or MS Trust) between 1980 and
2010, to participate in a semi-structured oral history interview lasting
between 1 and 2 hours, to discuss their experiences.
Interviews will be conducted online and will be driven by
your experiences, with questions centring around what you wish to discuss. No
forceful questioning will occur, you will be free to withdraw at any point
if you wish, and you will be kept anonymous within the research through a unique
code assigned to you.
If you are interested in participating please do get in
touch!
Contact Olivia on experiencescpms@kent.ac.uk for further information, to ask any
questions, or to register your interest.
I look forward to hearing from you, thank you!
