bedroom tax … got a spare room which is only 55sq feet , does that count as 1 spare room or as 1/2 a spare room ….. thanks for any help
There's no such thing as half a spare room. If you live in social housing a spare bedroom is a spare bedroom. It doesn't matter what size it is, if it's a bedroom it's counted.

Are you claiming any disability benefits such as daily living PIP or mid/high rate care DLA? if so and you need regular overnight care it maybe possible to claim for overnight care and this would mean an extra bedroom.
my friend told me about the housing act of 1985 , which says about bedroom sizes ?, thanks aswell
Hi @Bot22 and welcome to the community! Poppy has answered your question there, but I just wanted to say hi 😊 If you have any more questions let us know.
thanks for the help
That act states that a room smaller than 50 square feet can't be used for sleeping in.
So a room of 55 square feet is perfectly legal as a bedroom.
The value must be greater than or equal to 1.
